The Kalos "haunted" house is indicative of XY's single player: boring, disappointing, anticlimatic while trying to be grandiose and left me thinking "when is this going to end?"

They could have actually shown the shitty state of Kalos but instead painted it like a peaceful world like the rest of the pokemon world.
Hell the ultimate weapon would have fit in more with gen 5 than gen 6 and was about someone who could talk to pokemon but was raised under the assumption that all pokemon were abused by their trainers.
Not to mention the king mentioned in the abyssal ruins could have easily been written in as AZ.

They're not great, but they've been slowly improving. Gen 7 has word vomit going on, but it at least has ideas it wants to explore. Gen 6 just kinda throws the death shit in pretty late. AZ could be interesting if I hadn't spent a few dozen hours playing a bad game beforehand and he wasn't immediately rushed off stage.

No, you're correct.
Sinnoh unfortunatelu has the advantage of not being a dogshit game. A better plot and Coronet being designed better could have made it a contender for best campaign alongside the other 2D games. Instead it gets to be "the slightly disappointing one."

Kalos not only has the least memorable E4, but also the easiest E4. The Pokemon League as a whole was anticlimactic and I beat Diantha on my first try without any grinding. It makes Gen 7 look better in comparison and those games had a shittier gimmick and less of a postgame than the last one. YOUR generation is shit.

X/Y isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Much like people forgive D/P in hindsight, I can overlook many technical flaws since they were the first 3DS games and GameFreak just isn't competent to hit it right on the first try.
However, unlike D/P that got redeemed with Platinum, X/Y never got that 3rd game. Even later, ORAS didn't even fix engine issue, much less allowed to expanded content. And SM and USUM weren't much better either, but it infuriates me that USUM exists while X2/Y2 doesn't.
