>>54704979It's a tie between 1, 3, and 6.
The first 6 movies have great aesthetics. Cel animated, gorgeous background paintings, really moody environments, great stuff.
Storywise, I thought 1 was good for most of the movie. Great opening with Mewtwo being created and then blowing up the island, and then that threatening middle when they go to Mewtwo's island castle. The movie started to fall off for me when Ash leads an army of Pokemon into the stadium.
The second movie had great visuals and I loved the airship, but I can't recall anything about the story.
The third movie has the overall best story throughout. I rewatched it a few months ago and it has held up. The story is simple and it keeps up the tension and feels fast paced. Great visuals too. Entei spawning giant ice spikes to leap on in his pursuit of Charizard was really cool.
https://www.sakugabooru.com/post/show/41242I remember liking the setting of 6 in the mountains at night, and I thought Butler was interesting, and the final battle where they are flying on their dragons evading the tentacles had great animation, but I can't remember the rest.
https://www.sakugabooru.com/post/show/185675The latter movies (Destiny Deoxys through Arceus) have some decent story moments here and there, but overall feel more sluggish, and don't have the same quality aesthetics as the earlier movies. After the first BW movie, they start getting really bad, with The Power of Us being an exception, but Power of Us feels more like a Makoto Shinkai movie set in modern Tokyo rather than a movie set in the fantastical Pokemon world like the early movies.
>>54707001I remember Darkrai being very sluggish. Nothing really exciting happens until the last 20 minutes when the town is disintegrating.
>>54707066>Meh Tier:>>VictiniI remember the subplot about the ethnic guy trying to call him the diaspora to their ancestral land being much more interesting than the main stuff about dragon fights and floating castles.
