Guess subs were par for the course for kids shows. Pokemon lucked out with PM and I think Yugioh had good subs too, but everything else was mostly just retards making shit up, or at best translating from Chinese fansubs of crapshoot quality.

There's quite a few people who watch the Horizons raws and misunderstand things, I've noticed. I'm sure you can get the gist of things, since it's Pokemon and it's rarely complicated, but it does kind of show how high the language barrier actually is.

I could only find the thumbnail of this one, but it was a pretty hilarious comparison of the three groups that fansubbed this episode:

That's roughly the kind of quality you got, people that were able to pick out the occasional word in the Japanese dialogue and then just guessed what was being said. Usually not correctly

you get what I mean, they're the antagonists, so it's kinda lame that 6/9 of the shown members so far have jobbed already this early in the show, specially cause of what I said about Onyx and Sango jobbing on their debut and not even doing much to Friede and Cap. Again, remember these are supposed to be Admins and not grunts, Amethio is implied to be the weakest one(or at least newest one cuz of how the others treat him), but then the other 2 didn't fare much better, I seriously hope grandpa when he gets a proper fight, and the mudsdale girl pick up the slack...

When the Dusknoir guy confronted Liko's grandma, she asked "Why are you doing this? The Explorers are supposed to be Luicius' friends". This at least means that there used to be a group called The Explorers in the past, which was good unlike the current version. This is very similar to Team Galactic in DPPt and PLA. Also, because of Terapagos' reaction when it saw Amethio, it's not unlikely that he's a descendant of a member of the original group, just Like Liko's family is implied to be of Lucius. Again, very Galactic-esque.

I don't see a problem with the first two. Amethio didn't knew he had Tera so he got caught off guard. Diana is debatable but it made sense for her to bail out. She took the effort to get all of her books about Lucius and shit into her posession, she didn't even fought like she would risk getting the books into the wrong hands.

Come to think of it, the big warning sign that Amethio was gonna get humiliated was how hotheaded he was acting during this fight. Also, remember how Spinel "omitted unnecessary information" when he reported about his defeat? Would be pretty funny if he didn't say anything about terastal just so one of his teammates would trip up the same way he did

I have a feeling PM2023 will end earlier before Gen 10 games are released. It's probably finishing within these 2 years I guess as PM2023 is a plot driven series. It would be kinda boring to drag the plot too long in my opinion.

Liko's definitely a "Mary Sue" by convention, but she's also just kind of following the "chosen one" origin story. Anime in general has a real problem with characters being competent beyond their means, or having so many conflicting origins that it becomes ridiculous (Ichigo Kurosaki being a huge example; Monkey D. Luffy seemed to have avoided the curse, but spoilers). It's not that I don't dislike that she is the descendent of the Legendary Explorer, but it's kind of typical.

Oddly enough, until Movie 8, Ash was pretty much the only protagonist that wouldn't have qualified. He was a normal person and was regularly shown his ass. The Ash that people liked and enjoyed the personality, you know, rather than the one that a certain dishonorable person continues fanficing into the world.

It explains the angry eyes, it’s part of Dokutaro’s ability to make Toxic Chains, but because Terapagos cannot perfect it, it’s why it’s a temporary replication, and instead of a Toxic Chain, we get Tera Jewels replicating the ‘ideas’ of elements.

I only really wanted them to do one thing: Have Friede and Amethio fight to an actual conclusion. They did that much, so I'm happy overall. Everything on top of that was icing, especially Sango and Onyx' roles. I know Sango is the main attraction around here, but Salt Cure might be one of the most unsettling adapted moves in the series. I love it. The rest of the Six Heroes are revealed, and the quest is now to find all of them, including the Black Rayquaza. Next episode should be a fun one, following Terapagos and Diana as they board the Brave Asagi. Hopefully they can split an episode here or there in the near future to show what the outcome of Amethio losing to Friede will be for him. I wanna believe in the Zuko turn, but they need to show it in motion.

I am gonna miss Dokimeki Diary -- a lot -- but it might be worth it to have a different rap for the ending from here on out. Hopefully they pull it back in as an insert-song at some point.

Amethio looked really upset that he lost (well, as upset as he can be with such a reserved nature overall), and seeing him get pissed at Friede's continued ribbing was funny.

There's a reason I specified characters, not Pokemon. Putting in some sort of research facility or reserve where the Hisuian mons are still alive/thriving isn't that big of a deal (and given White Stripe Basculin is hard confirmed to not be a regional, Ursaluna just casually swam to Kitakami and has lived there for hundreds of years, and Perrin's H-Growlithe isn't treated like a big deal and has statues around, they might not even need to go even that far). The Clans, Galaxy Expedition Team, Ginkgo Guild, etc. are all dead and dissolved/transformed at this point in time, so there's really no way to have the modern cast interact with them and have it make sense without some time shenanigans.

Why is this series so plot-centric? They really did not want to do another Gym quest + fillers like the entire Ashime is. It feels really weird.

I really thought the show would settle into routine of fillers + the occasional plot episode but the show is still focused mainly on story. Given the saga has to last 3 years at minimum I don't know how much longer they could keep this up.

Terapagos’ power caused the Rayquaza to show up from the ball.
Terapagos’ power showed Liko and Roy, Lucius and Arbolivia in the past, while Arbolivia was holding them, because of Terapagos’ power.

Moltres was shown Lucius after angrily confronting Liko, only for Arbolivia to back it off, and for Terapagos as a Pendant form an illusion with Arbolivia’s rain dance. We thendon’ see Moltres on the ground confronting Liko, but awkwardly landing from flight on Liko’s right, an impossibility for Moltres to actually do, and then show it being comforted by Lucius. That Moltres is partially see through, showing the Galarian Mine through the illusion, proving it’s not an actual event happening. It then ends with Terapagos sucking the entire thing into itself in its final reveal, and apparently showing Moltres back on it’s perch it flew off of already, only to go and now be friendly with Terapagos after flying back down. Three very impossible things happened there. Moltres flew down, Moltres flew in from an impossible angle, and Moltres apparently never left it’s perch. Call it artist’s mistake for one and three, but two cannot be a mistake, the illusion of Lucius and Moltres is just that.

I’ve watched and not ‘sped’ through anything, since it’s come out. Rayquaza on the other hand showed up looking like a glittery mess, and hasn’t been seen since. I’m stating it was a fake. What’s your problem here? Please, point out anything I have wrong here, from my understanding.

I read somewhere that people assumed Nessa didn't show up for several reasons, the main one being that she had plenty of screentime in the Twilight Wings shorts. Plus, Journeys had too much focus on Goh, which shortened Ash's usual adventure style and prevented him from even participating in the SWSH gyms. Having so much focus on a deuteragonist was a mistake, especially since his only real gimmick kept boiling down to "I'll catch every pokemon up to Mew!", which he never even did. All he got to do was grope Mew's butt. Journeys ruined all chances of a proper SWSH anime, even if it did cover a good bit of the main story.

Even the staff realized that was a mistake, hence why they created Project Mew. Also by that point they decided to go all in on nostalgia, leaving even less time for Galar characters to show up. I can understand what they were trying to do with Journeys but the execution was terrible and I can see why Horizons is having a focused plot from the start instead.

From what I understand,
First, and it is obvious he wants Ash back- and he wants to do it in a way which humiliates RikoRoy like some shit out of a Betrayal Fic.

He still thinks there is a rivalry between Poke and Digi even though Pokemon 'won' the battle ages ago: so he wants Pokemon to one up Digimon in 'feats.'

(The only 'feat' between Ash and Tai which Tai has done and Ash hasn't is grow up and get a fulfilling job- something Ash would never do for obvious reasons. Course, who the fuck wants to work at the UN now? Story for another time.)

He wants to 'fix' Serena by turning her into a big, busty, onee-chan type even though she is 10 and I'm uh, totally not self-inserting as Ash.

A rematch with Ash and Alain. Not a bad request. I know at least one guy who would want a Tobias v Ash rematch.

Other fixes include: more humour (?), a dumb Ash comparable to OG who still wins in a retarded but still legit way no more gimmicks.

And he probably wants both Yajima and Tomiyasu fired and arrested for being pedophiles.

As someone who was here back then, I actually don't remember him much. The ones I remember were people like the stale guy, Slugfucker, Duplica, and Longhairfag. I only really started paying attention to him during Journeys, and he wasn't actually that bad back then, at least compared to the other friends we had during Journeys.

Reminds me these haters who complain about the dubsubs at Pokemon Diamond/Pearl anime (at least for the episodes that haven't been translated by [PM] while none of them makes actual fansub for said episodes. Sure, dubsubs are annoying but still better than nothing. Also they changed the characters/Pokemon names into the Japanese ones, which makes it more watchable.
