Same can be said about the Orre games and Conquest (who was a crossover anyways).
Ofc it being a niche means nothing, they made New Pokemon Snap, and even though the first was well received the second game came out decades after.
Yet somehow i don't think we'll ever see a new Ranger game. That's a shame, loved the world building those games had, it was among the few spin-offs to feel like "canon".
