I mean the game that exists is the one where the last pure Ice type I remember being good that wasn't G-Darm, was Regice in Gen 3 since it acted like an offensive Blissey, though Glalie also had a niche in that meta.

I'm discounting G-Darm because Gorilla Tactics is obviously the thing that makes the mon busted, it's not seriously arguable otherwise.

If G-Darm didn't have its Ice-type, it would be UU at best. Ice-type is literally what makes G-Darm broken in combination with Gorilla Tactics.

Snow made Ice better because of the defense buff it provides Ice Types, and Tera made Ice better because now you can get rid of Ice's weaknesses in favor of a better type all while keeping its STAB.
If you want a shitty type, look no further than Poison.
