Regardless, Dragonite's inherent GenWun Privilege has essentially given it almost 30 years of accumulated small things (Crystal Extreme speed, Mutliscale, etc), so it doesn't really need much else.

dragonite was a lot more promotional in the 90s than he was later, more exciting pokemon were developed I guess. jigglypuff also used to be shilled a lot around the same time, though I think that was mostly confined to japan.
