As for Will he himself in the mainline games says he has "traveled and trained all across the world". In Masters he repeats this saying he trained with his Pokemon all across the world and that joining the Elite Four was his main goal and hes super happy they accepted him. He says his favourite Pokemon is Xatu and that he knows Sabrina in Kanto.
But that's not really too much about Will sadly
Interestingly despite seemingly being male all of Will's Pokemon in HG/SS are female including in his rematch and in Pokemon Crystal every trainer in the game has an unseen gender tag in the games files and he's tagged as female so.. Uh.. Will maybe kind of trans or non binary? I dunno lol
