I can usually enjoy anything and I DID enjoy this, but ultimately it just wasn't interesting because it was the opposite of what made the previous remakes interesting. FRLG, HGSS and ORAS and even LGPE all added a number of new things that felt interesting and/or changed the presentation like actual remakes to be what was at the time the standards of the franchise, giving them their own identity.
BDSP being a "faithful remake" ultimately results in it just feeling redundant. The only major change is the visuals being 3D instead of 2D which is... not that exciting when the visuals are what BDSP ended up looking like. Beyond that it's effectively identical to just playing the original DP again, so why wouldn't I just do that?

>>54726641I don't mind these mechanics in games they're designed for but BDSP added them in but then did not even remotely rebalance the game around them, resulting in it being effectively impossible to play without being overlevelled unless you skip as much as you possibly can, which feels fucking awful.
