What's your opinion on this gen's take of pokemon revisionism? Better than Megas and Dynas for sure, but that's not the highest bar

I actually think it's the best way to flesh out or "fix" other Pokemon lines. The only problem is that the forms are locked to a region, but that can be fixed

Anon, that would still mean they split and share a common ancestor. COnvergents are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ANIMALS that converged on certain body plans, like sharks and dolphins, or bats and birds.

I prefer Megas and regional variants because at least they admit that they’re a slightly modified design. Modifying an existing design and calling it a new Pokemon feels like they were padding the dex and the only benefit I see of convergents is that can be used in other regions (even if I feel like they can easily just put regional variants in other regions, like they’re invasive species and are called x form because they originated from x region)
