I still find it strange because for many years, Ash was never as popular in the fandom as he is today, especially the older generations didn't hold him in such high regard, but today there are people who can't watch anime just because Ash isn't around, regardless if he always does the same thing. Even he became popular in NSFW (hentai, yaoi, etc). What is the reason for all this, what factors contributed?
