I really like Sceptile but this art sucks. It makes him look disgusting. Even the Mega artwork is a vast improvement. They should've re-done all the Hoenn dex artwork in ORAS, but for some reason they only did new art for Treecko, Torchic and Mudkip.

They likely won't make new artwork for an old dex anymore. While Gen 3 is more than two decades old, it doesn't use the dated watercolor style the previous two gens had.

But the shading and posing style has changed significantly. I don't think Sugimori really got comfortable with the new artstyle until Pt/HGSS time.
