If you're playing the game, there's no problem with EV training, because you'll have treasure to sell for cash from raids and LP for interacting with them at the same point. And with ALL the bonus drop events they've been running, it's literally only autistic fucking manchildren, who individually grind EV's just like they did as fucktard kids that have any problem with it. As mentioned above, it's the one sure sign of a hack somewhere in the chain ('cause no cunt just finds them, I got it legit once in Gen 2) so removing it negates the FOMO of normies for looking for hacks of them.
