I probably used the Pokedex to locate it after seeing it on some guy in Johto. Or saw it was pictured with Route 7 in the official Nintendo guide and intuited it from that, because unlike the RBY one that guide didn't have a fucking pokedex or encounter list past the E4. Page 70, I checked. Or just found it when I finally got there and thought that was bullshit. I dunno, man, it was over two decades ago.
