how do I reduce my IQ so I can enjoy the DS games?

it's genuinely depressing whenever I try to play something like Platinum or BW2 I just get bored out of my fucking mind by how easy and brainless they are, but someone like pic related can somehow genuinely think they're deep and strategic games. how do I make myself stupider so I can enjoy them like other pokemon fans?

You can deal with Lance for example with something like Ampharos + Ice attacks on Feraligatr/Red Gyarados/etc. Who is being forced to use Dunsparce of all things.

It's pretty much on the same level as those games if you have the Exp Share on. You only get more of a challenge from USUm if you turn it off.

I can only assume you're arguing in bad faith now. A lot of good items where scattered around the map, in SV the actual worthwhile items are all in the shops.

In USUM the dragon boss is a pseudo with maxed out EVs, +1 to every stat, and has a Noivern I have to fight at the same time that’s using Screech every turn so the Kommo-o one shots my Pokemon

In BW2 the dragon boss is an NPC with dogshit AI, that sends out three shitmons with 0 EVs and awful movesets one at a time in a row

if you think they’re remotely the same difficulty just because “b-but the exp share tho” it just highlights the point in the OP about you being low IQ.

This outed yourself. USUM is not a game. It's a visual novel with a Pokemon skin. XY are by far more unbalanced and poorly paced but the experience is overall still fun. You can't say the same about SM, USUM, or SWSH.

USUM being hard is a meme by zoomers so 3DS games can at least have "something"

USUM is not hard at all and Ultra Necrozma can be two-shotted by a lvl 29 Zorua, completely destroyed by a Malamar with Topsy Turvy (both Pokémon you can find IN THE FIRST FUCKING ROUTE) or just beat it the normal way if you have more than two linked neurons, it's a fucking 6 vs 1 battle for fucks sake. Even handicapping yourself by not using Exp Share, it's easy. Even easier if you use it.

The last "hard" battle in a Pokémon game was Volo in Legends Arceus (and only because it's a 6 vs 8), and before that Ghetsis in fucking Black and White.

Gen 7 was alright, better than 6 and definitely better than 8 and 9, but was not hard.

DS is still the peak of the franchise, which is sad as fuck because it was more than 10 years ago. PLA was a step in the good direction, but was half-assed and needed more work. Still better than SV

This isn’t the great point you think it is. Yes Pokemon have weaknesses, a good fight will add moves, items and/or team mates to better deal with those weaknesses.
Togedemaru doesn’t do any of that, you go into an Electric challenge and if you know that Electric is weak to Ground you win by default.

Yeah bro thank fuck the boss fight doesn’t have three different moves that might prevent me from moving altogether or a Skarmory that knows Torment so the Togedemaru can Spiky Shield every other turn I can use a ground move, I’m so glad you looked at the type chart I didn’t think of that thanks, in BW2 I didn’t even have to consider the type chart and I could mindlessly steamroll the ground gym with a fucking steel type so this is good to know

To be frank XY is even worse than the DS games in this regard. Challenge doesn't exist whatsoever unless you consistently gimp yourself out of the overpowered gift mons that will beat the game if you leave them in your party for too long. Wild mons escalate in level way too quickly if you try to catch mons specifically just to fill out a new team of 6 and ignore trainers to not over level.
The game clearly has an issue of being designed around the player not having any form of EXP sharing, nor catching EXP. This doesn't go into how fucking shallow the entire game from beginning to end + post game is, nor the Kanto dick riding.

If your answer is 30% flinch from Zing Zap or Iron Head, or 30& para from Bounce then it's a 70% chance the countermeasure does not work, not to mention that those attacks do little or no damage to a Ground type.

1. The AI is not smart enough to use Spiky Shield every other turn, don't pretend that it is.
2. You likely have two attacks in before Skarmory can use Torment, and by that point, you should have already gotten at least one good hit in on Togedemaru.

If you somehow went into the Togedemaru fight and struggled with a Ground move on your team then you're just bad at the game, I don't know what else to tell you.

I'm saying that even with the Exp Share, USUM is easier than the DS games. You're given too powerful options, it doesn't matter that the rival is 20 levels over yo and has fully invested EVs or whatever if you have access to fucking nukes, overpowered gimmicks and abilities and a fucking brain capable of adding.

The limited selection of Pokémon you have in Gen IV and V (outside BW2) before getting the Nat Dex makes you having to learn what you can use or not.

Starting in BW2, but even more prominently in Gen VI and beyond, each route has 30 different Pokémon you can get, and from Gen VII on, every new Pokémon has a retarded gimmick that can be exploited a lot (and the rivals never exploit)

Specially considering the only Steel Pokémon you can have by then are Magnemite line and Lucario.

Magnemite would have at best Flash Cannon (which needs you to be a bit overleveled), otherwise you'd have Magnet Bomb or Mirror Shot. Also, you'd get your ass wrecked by Clay's Pokémon's because your 4x weak to ground and you're hitting with non-effective moves just to prove a retarded point.

If you have a Lucario, it means you've been grinding as a motherfucker in Floccesy Ranch to get a Riolu, which makes you even more of a faggot for using Lucario, but on top of that, its only steel move is fucking Metal Claw which it can only learn by going to the Move Relearner IIRC
