Chansey is wayyy better simply because the entirety of the Dusk line are really bad Pokemon.

Chansey hasn't been good in years, where have you been?
Factoring VGC, the best is Clefairy easily, but Dusclops is a close second.

So can someone explain why dusknoir is worse than dusclops? Or clefairy/chansey etc. I've only ever heard this about the porygon line but I'm a casual.

I remember being a little kid and not knowing about shinies. Running in to a shiny Duskull in Ruby and thinking it was Latias in disguise - had no Pokeballs anyway lmao.

way shittier bulk and not enough attack to make up for it
clefairy is a doubles thing
chansey WAS better than blissey but it has to choose between boots that give immunity to spikes/stealth rock/etc. or eviolite, so nowadays blissey is preferred

Those Pokémon are mostly used for their tanky nature and utility moves, so the minimal boosts to their offensive capabilities they get from evolving aren't usually worth it compared to maximizing bulk with Eviolite.
