I've always wanted to know how they got her design through. My understanding is that the designers can legitimately just throw their ideas out and say "I want this to be a Pokemon" and it'll be considered, which means designs are very specifically attributed to individuals, which means one person in the office went "yeah she has like thighhigh boots and she evolved when she learned Stomp and she likes to kick other Pokemon while theyre down and laugh at them"

it's just an anthropomorhic supermodel mangosteen, it's not that hard to explain. Hawaii has pretty women (at least in the eyes of japanese tourists), so they just made several pokemon to illustrate that. In her case, if the pokemon is a mangosteen, then it has to have a thick "pulp", that's what they went with.

Honestly, i have no idea. Seems like Gen 7 was the generation Game Freak realized pokemon had a marketable sex appeal that they could harness, without turning the brand too adult, but they went too overboard with the juice and so we ended up with pokemon like Salazzle and Tsareena.

Is Tsareena really a fighting type though? Mono grass is very fitting for her theme as a queen fruit. Sure she kicks but it's more of a dominatrix thing than a type of fighting style.
Maybe if she mega evolved to become more aggressive and loses the crown somehow, sort of like how lopunny gains a fighting typing after losing all of her soft fluff and becomes more aggressive.
