It was fun how the game had a worldwide release with no leaks (okay I think it leaked like 2 days before or something?) and you weren't able to transfer pokemon yet and there were no hacks yet, so it was just millions of people playing the game legitimately going around trying to find what pokemon were available and where to get them, and breeding good enough teams to battle online with.
I lost interest when people became able to transfer over their charizards, and when people on skype started pestering me to hatch eggs for them because their hacks told them my PID would make it shiny, and when the perfect IV shinies started rolling in online.
