The music is perfect and incredibly ethereal
The side games are great and very enjoyable, also very setting-inducing
The cutscenes and story is very pumped and makes you feel the danger of Necrozma
The setting in general is amazing
The new mons are the best
Very deep lore wise too and the lore here dances perfectly with the gameplay

I never got around to finishing these. Are they worth getting done? It wasn't that I didn't enjoy them from what I remember, I just had other stuff going on and they got lost in the shuffle. The whole Rainbow Rocket thing sounds like a fun run.

I'm a sinnoh sucker but gen 7 is pretty far up there, along with gen 3
the dialogue can be annoying but in general I find the region and its challenges to be a step above typical pokemon games

Yeah there is, even route 1 has additional areas to explore with new items and pokemon
It just doesn't make it very obvious, most people who criticize the region probably just followed the rotom stickers or gave up
but, if you did explore it thoroughly and still don't like it, that's fine, because my opinion is the same :)
hoenn, sinnoh, and alola are my favourite regions

I'm playing it right now, the story isn't bad but it is told slowly and often intrusively
I still really like the gen, but this is its biggest flaw, even if it might not be a huge deal after all
