Deoxys' form being determined by the game it's in was a kino mechanic, they should have never gotten rid of that.

That might give it some kind of distinct niche, at least. I still don't think it'd be very good when having to compete with its other forms or other overpowered legendaries, but it would be functionally very different. A huge step up from what it's been.
