Was Blue as big a shithead in Japanese as he was in English? Lately I've been wondering if this is one of the things that was altered (or lost in translation) during localization. The 90's was a weird time for localization and I can easily see a translator mistaking casual/informal Japanese for hostility or a director believing that American kids wouldn't understand friendly rivals and competition.
