If you really think about it, megas are just designs with extra details and increased stats. It wouldnt make sense for them to look like a completely different evolution.

For every M-Bannette, you got an M-Slowbro, M-Sharpedo, M-Latios, or M-Latias
For every M-Mawhile, there's a M-Salamence, M-Aerodactyl, M-Venusaur, or both M-Mewtwos.
Was good where it ended; less we end up ruining way more designs that salvaging.

Honestly I thought the Mega Latis were cool, just that they needed a little bit more differentiation. Their shinies changing their colours back to normal would've been cool too.
But of course they were still worse than pre-nerf Soul Dew kek

Fuck no! Megas were the single worst thing that happened to the 3DS games. Every other aspect of those games are better than megas evolutions to varying degrees
