The second part of the SV DLC (Indigo Disk) is going to take place in Blueberry Academy, which is said to be located in the Unova region.
So my question is: doesn't this retrospectively make the Unova games (BW/BW2) feel incomplete, because there's no such Blueberry Academy in those games? Where in Unova is this Blueberry Academy supposed to be located? I suppose this also opens another question: when does SV take place? How many years in the future or in in the past is it, compared to the events of BW and BW2?

Considering that Mina is 19 in Gen 7 and she's 13 in LGPE (which is 1 year after RBY), there's at least 7 years between gen 1 and gen 7, so that leaves two years to allocate for the timeskips between gen 4 and BW and gen 6 and 7. After that we don't know.

I remember reading that the Blueberry Academy was only established recently. This would mean that the Blueberry Academy simply didn't exist at the time of BW/BW2, IF SV is indeed in the future compared to BW/BW2.

Blueberry academy is situated off the coast of Unova though, not in Unova itself. It's a man-made island like Aether Paradise. At most, the remakes will drop a line from an NPC referencing it.

On the topic of Unova.... Are we really getting classic remakes? Wouldn't B2W2 games be better? This is going to be a weird game depending on which route they take and like you said now that Blueberry Academy is a thing and part of the region it'll be weird without any mention of it. Also how dream world was a thing. Could the dream world be connected to paradox pokemon? How will this play out? I keep hearing about a legends type Unova Game but I can't imagine Game freak making the Unova game in that type of style. What are the most prominent leaks saying about the next pokemon games?

LGPE is an alt timeline retelling of Gen 1 though anon. The fact TR are a thing prove it can't be "one year after RBY", because LGPE details how a kid pulled in from the real world stopped TR and largely replaced Red as the MC of the tale told in RGBY. Did you play either SM/USM or LGPE? Or indeed genwun/Gen 3's remakes? never mind understand the incompatibility between SM/USM and LGPE was akin to the jump from Gen 2 to 3? It was "part of Gen 7" y virtue of eing released in Gen 7. It was the first in the seemingly new direction of self-contained side games, added to fill out a Generation's yearly release note. Game Freak still do "rehashes" in the form of DLC, ut it's only since LGPE did each side game they've done have a clear disconnect to the core games of the Gen, unlike say in DS days, with the remakes being perfectly compatible with the lead pair games.

Yes. Because kids are Game Freak's target demographic and they won't give a fuck about the rehash story, which didn't have the decency to be a proper rehash story and add to what came before, like Crystal which afforded HGSS to give the optimum version of events.
Never mind, the lead dev team don't have any investment into the rehash cycle (that's why they're lead team, after all) because while every rehash team was spinning out 90% the same game regurgitated with some new in the mix, they were planning and producing the next generation of Pokémon to further the series. So when it comes to remakes, the studio prioritises the games that the important people busted their arses to make, than the less-able development team pushed out to give the doll-up treatment.

I don't know bro. I feel like a Unova remake won't leave anyone happy. If it's a BW1 remake, it will lack everything that makes BW2 so awesome. But obviously they can't just remake BW2 and forget about BW1. It's a complicated situation. But I feel like they might just get ILCA to remake BW1, ignore BW2 completely or almost completely, ignore Blueberry Academy, and focus on a Unova prequel like they did with PLA and Sinnoh.

I personally wouldn't mind this especially if they give us a way to catch older pokemon the way BDSP did even if we have to wait till half way through the game. The thing that bothers me is that the remakes we've gotten on the switch (LGPE,BDSP) don't go past their original gens Dex and with all these new Unova Mon (paradox and the cross gen evos in Legends) it would suck not being able to use them

People either ignore the trailers' information and context clues or never watch 'em in the first place. The camera pan clearly showed the school island in the middle of the ocean/sea, clearly showed no land anywhere in sight, yet spastics will continue to insist it's shoved right up the arse of the waterway leading back to Charizard bridge because "it's set IN Unova, so it has to be almost touching the lanmdmass11".

It won't be. The lead pairs are the prime timeline, events which take place in them regularly get referenced in other later lead pairs released in later Gens. this extends to why only the lead pairs get remade - they're the canon events of a Gen, thus get reinforced in remake cycles. Hell, BDSP proves that - made by Game Freak for their universe initially, then remade by ILCA (again, proving the canon events of Gen 4), while Game Freak made a prequel/sequel (can't really be called an interquel, I don't think but could be either) to the events of DP/BDSP, essentially remaking the core story, which was then shown to be canon to the newest games' timeline. BW remakes will maybe reference Blueberry academy, either by saying it's in construction or recently finished, but we won't visit it. It was created to give another excuse to send a schoolchild to a non-base game region naturally, thus will not e critical to the retelling of the canon Gen 5 events. It's not that complex to work out, especially now since they established an entirely separate dev team to concentrate on producing rehashes and mid-Gen side games while the main team works on new Gens continuously and they confirmed a multiverse (which was already soft-confirmed as early as Gen 1, when two separate Reds met in the union room to trade pokémon from a Kanto alternative to their own Kanto). Not all games appear in the prime timeline (only BW2, which follows on directly from BW does, the rest introduce a different instance of the prime universe's region), even if all are canon to the pokémon universe.

We're still 5 years away from a BW remake, because they're NOT burning it to shill a dead system next year (Switch NG is due sept or nov next year, Nintendo are getting the last of their Switch line-up shat out before July next year, clearing the decks for the new. Meaning Pokémon will be on a lame duck system for two years until Nintendo push out the kiddy revision of the NG in 2026, just in time for Gen 10 and the series 30th anniversary, then the DLC/rehash replacement will be '27 leaving '28 efore they remake your childhood). I'd have said BW was next for a re-do, if they didn't stop and re-do Kanto, where FRLG got released in between RS and DP, just as they did ORAS, LGPE and then BDSP. Means we've a Johto re-visit to undergo first and given they have two years to fill before 2026 after the DLC this year, they're absolutely shitting one out. they sell to kids. That means introducing kidds to regions they may not have experienced and seeing as there's now 14 years since kiddies found out there was a Johto, it's due time to tell the new afterbirths about the regions that helped shape the series.

The point is that a vague abstract idea of a gen 1 plot happens and then 7 years later a vague abstract gen 7 plot happens. The details then vary depending on the games.

They don't get read in until the studio wants to start marketing the games (in essence don't get handed them until about 8 months until release, just before needing tailored marketing blurb for the west). You keep posting this like it means anything, but quite literally they only say they've released new titles set in the same region in the past but instead they're doing DLC for swsh. A sequel and a rehash both fall into this category of new title set in old region.

They were never a "gimmick" until Sword and Shield dropped them. Before that they were an accepted mechanic of the series.

If they wanted kids to care aout it in Gen 7, they'd have given it on the first islandd after the Z-Ring. They waited until post-game, when the bulk of players peaced out. That they refused to make a Mega greninja also pointed to it being pure gimmick, one that they refused to give to newer pokémon, because the whole point of the gimmick was making older shillmon comp viable.
