It's fragile as fuck and if it breaks the bird starves, and this has killed many birds.
I doubt its a problem for pokemon though.
Also the joints tend to be further back in the mouth, something pokemon likes to forget. So birds can open their mouth wider than it looks. I guess its like the size of your mouth vs the size of your jaw. Still a weird picture though.
