XY slapped a shiny big mega button that screamed gimmick, then they changed that big gimmick button to Z-moves, right after adding the big gimmicky button. Then for some reason rather than refining big gimmick button number one or two they decide it’s perfectly okay to make big gimmick button number three (gigantamax) but even that wasn’t good enough because then they immediately made gimmick button number four (Tera). They can’t leave the big gimmick button alone.
