Why doesn't Gamefreak add the Pokémon music videos they pay for to the start of their Pokémon games like other Japanese games do?

Yes.
You may not like it, but Post Malone is very popular among normies in America.
The OP music videos can be different on a per region basis. There is a reason Nintendo produces separate cartridges for Japan, America, EU, etc.

Song was meh and it definitely worked better as general collab shit with a music video instead of being the goddamn credit song, but a song about finding joy in things from a fan of the franchise is at least a coherent choice compared to the shit Post Malone pitched for that anniversary.

While at the same time, they're doing as much as they can to make the games the same in all regions to lessen the need to localize everything such as replacing text with made-up letters.

More or less true, but you still get shit like the new Fate game that has a pretty nicely animated opening, or I played the Code Geass gacha since it recently got translated and it has an opening with some Flow jams that I love, up there with the best of the anime's OP songs
Pretty much all the Persona games including spinoffs have animated openings too. PQ2's is the best

This hasn't been the case for a while now. If you buy a Japanese Switch Pokemon game it's going to automatically default to your region's version. All that's really different is the case and the sticker on the cart. Even the 3DS games do if you have a hacked 3DS iirc.
