A containment board is one for whose subject is not allowed to be discussed outside of it. /mlp/ is a containment board, you will be banned and your post deleted if you talk about ponies outside of it. There's specifically a rule about that. /pol/ is also a containment board, if you make a thread about current politics outside of there it will most likely be deleted.
There are random Pokemon threads on /v/, Pokeani and Pokespe threads on /a/, and a Pokemon Masters thread on /vg/. Subject boards are not containment boards.
