Middle era is Gens 3-4

Gen 6 didn't change much about battles, it didn't add much QoL, the routes in both games look identical, they're both pretentious as balls about their toddler-tier stories, there are always """"friends"""" around to make sure you don't get lost or have fun in unprescribed ways, trainers usually just have 1-2 pokemon that don't have anything to do with their trainer classes, the cities are huge and the routes are bland, beating gym leaders always takes a backseat so the evil team can hog the spotlight...
The only meaningful changes were megas, which true gamers don't use anyway, and fairies, which, surprisingly, don't make that much of a difference.
