Jesus christ how can most pokemon players be such massive ass collectively? Even actual real life honest to god extra chromosome retards have more brain cells than most of the people you run into in raids

I'm not asking for much, just that I am not always the only person bringing taunt into a raid where taunt is absolutely needed

Or that people knew about flash fire or thermal exchange or even could take into consideration the pokemons original typing rather than it's tera type

The Pokemon playerbase gets more competent and informed with each passing gen.
IVs and EVs are a widely know mechanic nowadays, while in the past they were actual hidden mechanics.
Nowadays you can find one decent player out of ten in raids, but if the mechanic was present in classic games teammates would have been 100% shit, like hyper beam-spamming Mewtwo and Charizard with fly.

Aside from the literal children as mentioned by everyone else, you are also playing with the most casual audience possible - people who're just here for a nostalgia fix or because pokemon's popular again, and mindless drones who buy every game but never dig deeper into the mechanics than the type chart. The majority of people who know what they're doing are either coordinating with each other so they don't have to play with unskilled randos or have given up on the games in their current state entirely.
