These games are soooooo comfy. I wish we got s sequel with a more refined co-op. I remember playing this with my hubby when the games came out. It was a lot of fun seeing how excited and into it he became. He liked it so much it got him into Pokemon in general. He played my copy of X after beating this

It would be good if it had a day night cycle. It sounds insane but looking at that desaturated pastel color pallet with no breaks or changes in scenery turned me off so much from the game. The day night cycle was the best addition the series ever made and not including it in every game was a horrible mistake.

That's why they needed a sequel. Let's Go Johto games would introduce the mechanics we first saw in the original gen 2 games. The games had the perfect build up to it and nothing came out of it

I feel like the starters would be Pichu and Togepi and they'd evolve in the story or something. As a way to reintroduce eggs/breeding. They'd bring back held items, day/night cycle as well. Also with the games being all about catching the whole Unown thing would work well

Most importantly for me, a Let's Go Johto game should have a Battle Tower (since Crystal introduced the first ever Battle Tower in the series).

If LGPE had a Battle Tower (located on a nearby island for example) it would've been perfect for me.

I think it's fine, It's just a little "too much, too much of the time" If that makes sense? I think pokemon has slowly shifted really hard into a pastel sort of aesthetic that sort of embraces Ken Sugimori's watercolor style for the original art.

I understand the homage, but the issue is so many environments in LGPE are really, really bright in a weird way. That, combined with the constant up-beat nature of the soundtrack not having "night themes" just makes it really hard to sell Kanto as a real world. GBA games could make do with a lack of a day-night cycle because of the surrealism of pixel art, but LGPE is the only game since gen 4 to lack one and it just makes the "first fully 3d kanto game" feel more like a theme park than a plausible world i'm exploring.

fun is subjective, the idea behind flicking the controlleer as if you're throwing a pokeball isn't a bad idea but they didn't need to remove wild battles in order to accomplish that did they?

While I'm still of the opinion that PLA is the best Pokemon game on Switch, LGPE is probably the best "traditional" one on Switch. Had a decent enough reason to only have the original 150 (it's not good, but it's better than the bullshit they spewed for SnS and SV), and didn't make the original seem better by trying to be a """faithful""" remake.
I could just be saying this because I've not played it yet, and don't have the same disdain/disinterest for them compared to SnS, SV, and BDSM, but I doubt they could be as bad as those three shit piles are.

that's exactly what it does, maybe not to the same extent as BDSPiss, but it's literally just gen 1 in 3D with only a small handful of changes, even to the point where only gen 1 mons are in the game

OP here. I want to clarify that I only play LGPE in Handheld mode because I play on a Switch Lite. I haven't tried LGPE in TV mode so idk if the catching mechanic is more tedious in TV mode. But in handheld mode it's very nice.

I'm playing Shining Diamond right now, and boy oh boy... I think this may be the worst video game I've ever played. It doesn't have a single thing going for it. I'm not even at the third badge and I don't think I can even force myself to continue.

And I say that as someone who loved Sw/Sh and still enjoyed S/V in spite of how buggy and unfinished it was. In one way or another I've enjoyed every mainline game, so I'm like the easiest person to please in the world.

>no access to fun pokemon or TMs
>every trainer is vastly underleveled for their area and they all have the same 3 pokemon
>no fun or hot characters to make the story less tedious
>beauty contest and underground digging are the most pointless garbage minigames imaginable
>immensely tedious pathing with nearly almost 0 secrets or hidden items
>art ranges from bland to ugly, and has no style or character

it barely even feels like a real video game

That could work. Or, Espeon/Umbreon. You start with an Eevee then it evolves at a certain story point.

While they have no actual reason to do it, that would make for a great single version Let’s Go 2 based more on Crystal, and let the evolution into Espeon or Umbreon be a choice.
