One of my biggest issues with it is that you'll be overlevelled for most of the game if you don't intentionally avoid trainers and encounters, then get hit with a 7 level jump for the champion fight.
There is no cue for it, there is zero indication that if, by some miracle, you were on level for the whole game, that you would then need to level some more for the very next and last mandatory fight.
The darkest day shit interrupts the champion match, then when its resolved, you think "better finish what I started" and Leon's packing a level 60+ team. Even though they have shit IVs and no EV investment, it can fuck you over if you were playing blind prior to official release like I was, not expecting shit like Haxorus and Aegislash to jump you. Jumps like that between gyms are fine, there's fodder between each one, but there's nothing between Eternatus and Leon.
It's not a difficulty thing, the games are still easy, it just rustles my autistic jimmies something fierce.
