We're still at Gen 8 in terms of doomposting, but you could very technically argue that breeding is completely irrelevant now thanks to Mirror Herb allowing Pokemon to pick up egg moves from party members who have them.

They made it so the only way to get eggs to spawn in a reasonable timeframe is to make an Egg Power Sandwich, then it's just a matter of sitting around for a few minutes and checking the basket every so often until it says there's an egg.
Without Egg Power, the odds are so horrifically low that you could spend literal hours waiting for no results.

You can press d-pad right to see your current meal effects and how long they last. All food, regardless of source, awards meal effects. New ones override old ones.
