>>54840445Nintendo WILL let it happen, all they care is getting a new game to sell each christmas to drive console sales, which they get anyway (and sometimes even two in 3 months). TPC are a non-entity, Game Freak's deal is with Nintendo, because they've been renewing it whenever it was due to expire after initially striking gold with Red/Green. Remember, TPC wanted Mega Greninja, not the easily-binnable arsepull form Game Freak gave them. Because Game Freak didn't want to make it a Mega. TPC will get what Game Freak give them and shill it gladly, because it's the only way they can generate their revenue - using Game Freak's IP as a basis for all their efforts. And all involved know how significant 2026 is. they'd all be perfectly willing to sit on their hands in '25, when it means getting a shitload of anniversary sales as well as likely a massive game launch, by hyping up Gen 10 and the 30th anniversary of Pokémon. Fuck, they may even pull Tajiri out the room he's stuck in for interviews, seeing as he's the only founder left at the place.
But again, Nintendo know this and quite possibly helped plan it by not launching a new console this year. Since DS, every pokémon game that's launched on a new system launched either alongside or just after a console revision (usually but not always) primarily aimed at younger players than teen. And the revision has usually launched two years after initial console launch. No console this year = no revision in '25 for Pokémon to appear after.
