what are good pokemon for tera raids?
a onions beard guy with glasses and very thin arms and a disproportionately big head called me a nigger while trying not to cry because i brought my cinderace into a raid (we didnt lose) but he said "its not a raid pokemon"

Whenever I do raids with other people I usually play support with a fatass Eviolite Chancey or a Gardevoir. Haven't seen anyone complain.

The reason you don't bring Cinderace to raids is because frail Pokemon tend to die a lot, and the raid timer ticks down faster each time a Pokemon faints. The general strategy with raids is to bring a bulky Pokemon like Iron Hands or Purrserker, boost your attack a few times, then beat the shit out of it. Alternatively, a support Pokemon like Chansey works.

But the specific raid also matters a lot too. Like for the Pikachu raid, the easiest way to win was to bring an Appletun holding the anti-Fairy berry and put up a reflect. Between the Reflect, anti-Fairy berry, and Apple's ability boosting the anti-Fairy berry, the AI generally wouldn't bother using Play Rough, would usually avoid Iron Tail while Reflect was up, so all it had left were 4x resisted Surf/Thunders. Then you could just spam Apple Acid until it died.

Other raids usually have similar cheese strategies like that.

I appreciate you people who do this, but I could never do it myself. I can't trust my teammates to not stumble over their own feet and fail to break shields, so I'll carry the team on my back and kill the raidmon myself if I have to.

In case we fail we can always try again. The other day a guy I was raiding with asked me for my Chansey build, wanting to replicate it himself.
My only problem with Chansey is that unfortunately it doesn't learn Reflect, but I guess it would've been absolutely broken otherwise.

these are some good starter pack for raid

just make sure do not bring any mon that is weak to the raid mon ORIGINAL typing (or any of the raid mon's move)

These are the ones I use the most for general raids. For the event raids I try to find the specific strat that helps against it.

I tried doing a 5* solo, but even my strongest mons (all in the 70's fresh off the first Academy Ace Tournament clear) could do enough damage to take out the target before getting wiped out.

well, I would not suggest attempting 5 stars raid or above with sub-optimal mon wich are not:
lvl 100, IV hyper trained, EV trained, nature minted, ability patched, moves machined.

Even then, bad pokemon or even type match-up can still fail your raid.

I would recommend bringing a support Pokemon to raids and letting your teammates play DPS until you can get a Pokemon to level 100. Raids tend to award lots of EXP candy, which can boost your Pokemon to level 100 pretty quick. After the Academy Ace Tournament raids are the main source of challenge (aside from PVP, which scales your level anyway), so getting to level 100 is important. You'll also want to make sure you have allocated all EVs correctly, and hyper trained the Pokemon if necessary. Raids pay back the investment cost for doing this pretty quick.

It can be fun to drag a team that really should just die kicking and screaming to the goal line. I have a Hatterene for most 6* raids that throws up screens and Helping Hands the DPS, with a little Heal Pulse or Life Dew to keep people alive. Also bounces most status moves, which leads to shenanigans against the handful of raids that spam Encore but is otherwise pretty clutch.
Usually there's at least one rando who can put up reasonable damage and it's mostly a matter of identifying who. I saw a SD Koraidon recently that absolutely would have gotten nuked before it could contribute if it wasn't for me spamming Heal Pulse.

Raids can be pretty simple; Annihilape and Iron Hands can brute force many 6* raids offline. But pubbies can throw a wrench into things. These kinds of charts (and the Raid Cat strat) were made early on to help people get into coordinated raids and clear them fast and reliably with relatively little investment. You used to see a lot of people running Belly Drum Iron Hands or Azumarill for basically any raid because they can theoretically contribute to most fights. But being noobs to raiding they often got smacked for SE damage while Belly Drumming because they don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of Raid movesets (or don't realize that that natural Ground, Tera Flying type pokemon will carry Earthquake).

If you've only just reached the credits, then you're only up to 4* raid availability. Nemona and Geeta will show you the way to the postgame sidequest you need to clear to unlock 5* raids. After that, you'll have to do something obvious to unlock 6* and 7* raids.

Oh hell I don't even know if I have the dlc itself, probably only the game update. Honestly I might put the game down after doing the postgame. I enjoy it well enough but I don't have time to do everything anymore.

These are both pre-home. Has anyone bothered to update this since Home integration? It added a lot of legendary Pokemon that are probably helpful.
Saw someone bring Arceus(Fire) to Typhlosion to get around burns and everything.

Most raids can be completed with Iron Hands unless they're 7*s at which point you should just look up a guide because there's always one way to cheese them. Never play with other people. It's ten times harder, even without little Timmy sabotaging you
