So what became of Laventon's Pokedex? It had entries on Pokemon that wouldn't be discovered, or even created, until later on.

For that matter why did Oak say there's only 150 pokemon in gen 1? He lives right next door to another region. What the fuck was Pokemon Academia doing for the past 100 years?

>Fuse is lit war starts, TR profits and positions its own members as mayors, lawyers, law makers etc.
>Oak acts as the unifying hero outwardly during the war while pursuing his own agenda stealing pokemon, research data, destroying academic institutions which nets him the position of chief academic post war, his cronies even writing fake pokedex data and hailing him as the be all end all of researchers.
>After the war ended with Jhotos defeat he starts using censorship in the name of peace to erase records of his own crimes including the creation of the Masterball (which is canon btw.) which can be credited as the main cause criminals world wide dared to even try to organize to capture legendaries and enact their insane plans.

Gen 1 and 2 are in their own timeline, the other 100 from gen 2 were newly discovered in the time between games.

In the timeline pre-Arceus, Laventon's efforts fail without Dawn so there is no organized Pokedex until Oak.
As we did not live through the timeline where Dawn got warped back to Hisui, we don't know what happened there, but we may see it if there's a 4th Kanto remake.

Legends takes place in the same timeline as DP/BDSP, you stupid fuck. Lucas can't have set out to save Sinnoh, if he hadn't already been warped back to Hisui and Hisui couldn't have been saved if Lucas wasn't born to save Sinnoh and grow older after doing so.

The setting described in gen 1 zukan is that academia was incredibily retarded and only by the 17th century someone bothered to classifiy these misterious creatures roaming around.
Of course the real reason was that they weren't sure if they were ever making more mons. Some side material from the time said there were only 2 Snorlax in the whole world for instance.
