The Galarian forms are shorter than their respective counterparts because they don’t need as much muscle living in the forest and accumulate life energy from Glimwood Tangle itself. Being small also likely makes it easier to avoid predators.
Anyway Bede probably has a lot to do with why this Pokémon is designed the way it is. Has to be aggressive and mean due to being Bede’s secondary ace. Piercing eyes, scowl, the Fairy characteristic of being selectively aggressive against those who wrong it.
Like Hatterene, Galarian Rapidash turns from an empath with healing abilities into a deceptively dangerous predator. The same game also has Opal cram into your head that Fairy =/= cute and lovely; there are hints of cruelty and twisted trickery included as well.
