It would make more sense.
While I admit the pokemon world can be as asexual as it wants, many developers started to make gender focused pokemon.
This is not bad, nature has ways to explain wh a gender is superior to the other, is an evolution thing. But the problem is when the pokemon can be male and female, yet is obvious you are meant to have one gender or the other.

With gender differences, at least it would make sense why one is a male, and the other a female.

Sexual dimorphism is fine, but in a more subtle or realistic way depending on the case.

For example giving a fluffier coat on the neck to the female Cinderace, a larger mane to the male Primarina, a silver back to the male Rillaboom.

In the case of Meowscarada I don't see the need for big changes, at most just the size of the mask or cape as happens with Roserade. Since the animal species (Lynx) does not have a very marked dimorphism, you can choose to change some of its plant elements.
