The music was terrible, and to make things worse the same one song kept being remixed.
For the first time ever I didn't like any stage of any starter line. Other pokemon were similarly atrocious.
The character designs were terrible, and so was the writing. Glad I didn't try to push through it or else I might've ended up arguing for a year straight like the timetravel vs imagination autists and the pennyfags.
Character customization is the worst it's ever been.
Level design is the worst it's ever been (non-existent in favor of openworld slop)
Game balance is the worst it's ever been (again, non-existent because of the openworld)
And that's about it for what I actually experienced while playing. I've seen a lot more about it since but I'm not typing all that out
