>>54859715Personally, I think Game Freak made a good choice by not making pikaclones of different types. Pikachu is already a very popular and beloved pokemon, and by creating pokemon with similar designs and characteristics, it allows for that to be built upon. Also, making pokemon of different types gives the designer more freedom of creativity when developing new creatures. Instead of having to follow certain rules when creating new pokemon, the designers are allowed to get more creative and come up with new and interesting concepts.
