And it's been years since Let's Go came out, and both games are experimental engine test games. The best you can hope is that the next one is innovative in a way you like, rather than whatever the hell Masuda was trying with Let's Go. Personally I think the next change should be on the more structural end, how would a mission based Pokemon game work for example.

PLA was the change to the pokemon formula the series needed, but not the one it deserved. Open world resource gathering, ball throwing simulator gets old by the 10th hour in. The only remotely challenging battle being the one vs not Cynthia and Giratina, while it was a gem of a series of fights, it happens so fucking late it doesn't really help replayability. Then there's getting to Arceus. This happens even later unless you're a turbo autist filling the dex tasks. Great music during it, nice battle, but too late once again.

Dropped LGPE after Erika
Dropped SWSHit after finishing it, didn't even bother to pirate the DLC
Dropped BDSP during midgame
Dropped Arceus after Giratina. Did not care to catch them all in a game that where all you do is catch them all
Haven't even updated SV to the day 1 patch since I dropped that game during the week it got leaked

SV > PLA > SWSH > LGPE > BDSP
Yes, even SV was more tolerable than PLA

Which is fucking retarded as an argument for anything to begin with and isn't actually a sign of whether something is good or bad but also it's not even the worst selling pokemon game. And it sold as many copies as both versions of BDSP. Insert BDSP bad post here which isn't really the point. BDSP still sold 14 million+ and so did PLA. THat is an absolute fuckton for most games even if not for pokemon. THe vast majority of games dont sell tens of millions of copies to begin with.
