The idea being that trainers are specializing their teams in certain ways via training rather than something mystical or magical gimmick. Fits in a game mechanically, and can be explained in lore and used for an anime. Plus it would give you the ability to specialize your team in potentially fun ways.
Give each player like 3 of these, and if it's not enough, add in +1 special ability like a "special technique" like a Z-move except used like GMax/Tera
