I agree that the anime got tired and Ash as a character long outstayed his welcome, but it's coming clearly into view that most Horizons fans only like it for being different. On its own, it has few decent characters, hardly any memorable comedic moments, the plot is like an awful fanfiction, and it's slow and dry all around. The main characters are constantly getting bailed out by someone else's Pikachu and Charizard from KANTOOOOOO. Worst of all, thanks to the increased amount of exposition dialogue, there's less character animation and hijinks per episode. It's very rough.
From an objective point of view, it's pretty awful.
