in gen 9 each area has its own implied season, south is Spring, north is Winter, east is Fall and West is Summer

There's nothing sadder than a Unovabortion pretending pokemon designs stop being good after Gen V, lol. Shitnova has the worst dex in the entire series; uglier than everything before and after it.

To my knowledge, the only gens with explicit seasonal qualities are gens 5 and 6, and even then they don't follow a realistic season rotation.

It's clear it was an experiment as a method to keep "seasons" in a pokemon game without actually doing it.

I still don't count it as seasons. It's like saying John has an Autumn just because it has an autumnal aesthetic. By definition, seasonal qualities must have objective changes happening in an appearance. Only Unova actually has these, and it makes sense, as its locational inspiration has seasons.
