The camera angle for the model makes it look shorter and fatter, which doesn't really work for a snake.

It's just cuz almost everyone Pokemon looks weird with the Gen 6 and beyond models.
The only pokemon that survived the transition were the ones that were already super geometric. Porygon, Seedot, Exeggcute, Nosepass, Voltorb, etc.

The 3D pose is boring and uninspired. The 2D makes it look she has her nose pointed up making her look snobbish trying into the theming and the tail being raised makes her look bigger and adds some visual flair by showing off the leaves on the tail. If you posed the 3D model the same way it would honestly look better as the thicker body really adds a lot of weight to the design, but they didn't so it looks like shit.
