>>54902914You don’t understand what they mean by difficulty. It isn’t just the raw power of the boss battles, its also stuff like how hard it is to come to grips with the mechanics, how hard it is to find mons, what sort of tools the game gives you etc.
Gen 3 introduced a fair amount of revisions, increasing the complexity of the mechanics, which puts both old and new players onto somewhat equal footing. Additionally, a lot of the Pokémon from Hoenn are gimmicky and require more complex strategies to use properly, think of stuff like kecleon, castform, Cacturne, etc. Level-up Movesets also tend to be quite skimpy, only giving you OKish moves to work with until extremely late levels, requiring you to rely on TMs. A lot of the new move’s introduced are also fairly niche in their usage, requiring players to put more thought into when and how to use them (stuff like torment, encore, helping hand, etc).
And that’s not even to get into aspects like exploration, which is obviously harder in Hoenn due to much larger map sizes.
Tldr you have no fucking clue what you’re talking about. Compfags always fail to grasp the idea that the games have multiple facets to their gameplay and aren’t just battle simulators
