No, the reality is that everyone was made to sign something before being given extremely limited access to the game, all while being carefully watched over by TPCI to ensure they didn't go off-script, only seeing what TPCI wanted them to see, and are only allowed to describe things to a degree that satisfies TPCI as well.
I'm absolutely willing to bet the one guy who actually told us about BP is in some minor trouble, because everyone else was either told to not discuss it and avoid showing footage featuring BP if possible, even if they need to censor it, hence why no one else is alluding to BP's existence in DLC2.
