Because socialism treats them as pure incorruptible angels that can't ever do wrong, because they know that flatters them and will win them votes, bleeding-heart true believers will often buy into the belief that whatever the poorfags believe must be right. And grifters will just give it to them anyway even if they know what they wANt is retarded and will do harm in the long term, as long as said grifters can secure the bag for themselves they won't care.
