Menu Sprites

I loved the little menu sprites. I miss them now that they are replaced by the soulless flat icons.

Gen 8 ruined them. Gen 9 ruined them further. 3DS era had it best.

The 3DS ones are the cleanest looking I agree. But the pre-3DS ones have a lot of quirks and soul that makes me like them more, especially with the limited colour palettes and often amateurish looking spritework.

I would argue that the LGPE and SwSh sprites are worse than the BDSP/SV sprites due to the inconsistencies alone.

What the fuck were they thinking? The new box icons are soulless but at least every Pokemon got a new, consistent one thanks to HOME. The 3DS ones are still the best.

Wish the inconsistencies were fixed because the LGPE ones are by far my favorite otherwise. The artifacting doesn't bother me
