The worst part about Pokken is the phase shifts. If you can get over the issues with that the game is great. If you can't the game is good.

As someone who is currently playing it (yes they haven't given up on the servers yet) the phases definitely take some getting used to. For new players it's pretty jarring to get used to but the simple movesets with no special inputs (instead there's a dedicated special button like injustice) make it easy to search for a main you enjoy, especially since each pokemon plays completely unique to one another. One complaint I have is that local play is shit and runs on a locked 30fps so you have to go online for the best games, which requires you to have good internet on switch :)

Smash is either custom made, Sugimori art, or, in most previous titles, recycled Creatures Inc models from Stadium/newer games.
