On the other hand females have two Xs which means for a female cat to be a single color, she needs to have two copies of the orange gene. Instead most of them have one of each, which produces either calicos like picrel, or tortoiseshells (no white).
Conversely a male calico cat is nearly impossible barring genetic disorders like Klinefelter (XXY male)
