We didn’t even know about that shit in the sticks where I grew up, and even if we did, good luck talking your parents into driving, at minimum, an hour for a digital download. The early days of pokemon events were not great in the states.

I'm not sure why I didn't go. The event was close enough, I usually went somewhere with at least one of my parents or grandparents most weekends, I probably did know it was happening, because I read gaming magazines, and my mom took me to the Mew event 2 years later.

That would be retarded. You have to catch Rayquaza as part of the story, it's catch rate is heavily nerfed in that encounted. You can use a premier ball to catch it without any difficulty.
